UPDATED 17th Oct 2007 I'm on Flickr. Check me out here.
Hi there! I've been interested in Second Life off and on for the last few years and came across this website via the recent Official Guide book. It strikes me as a great way to get to know some new people and make new friends, especially for the chronically shy such as myself :)
As the Occupation display says, I'm a Mac Specialist in our local Apple Store which opened recently. I used to be a teacher in UK secondary schools, which anyone in this country will tell you is on a par with being in a war zone. Thankfully, I love my current job and since leaving teaching have never looked back.
I'm a keen musician and writer. I play piano, clarinet and saxophone and hope one day to get involved with the live music side of things in Second Life. I love listening to music and I have tastes that are best described as "eclectic". I'll listen to anything that interests me, and I have no time for lazy dance artists who simply rip off old songs without adding anything worthwhile or creative to them. Harsh but fair. :)
I'm keen to explore everything SL's world has to offer, from the artistic to the seedy underbelly of things. SL is a fascinating virtual world to explore, and it's a wonderful experience to wander through the imaginations of others!

| What I Love: |
People who don't judge others on first impressions. In my "RL" I constantly worry that I make a bad first impression so it's always a pleasant surprise to make a new friend. The same is just as true in SL.
That and coffee. |
| What I Hate: |
People who set out to deliberately ruin the experiences of others. This applies in both my first and second lives! There's no need to be rude, a killjoy or a jobsworth - and yet so many people are... many seemingly through choice. How sad for them.
And onions. |

Music Music Music
This playlist creator is the wonderful work of Project Playlist. I think the music you're hearing aptly demonstrates my fairly eclectic musical tastes, if nothing else :) The player's set to random, so you should get a new tune every time you drop by to visit. Hopefully. Likewise, hopefully there should be something in that list that everyone likes :) I've also tried to put in some interesting cover versions which you may not have heard before - Radiohead do Carly Simon? Bluegrass-style Radiohead? Cake cover I Will Survive? Knock yourself out :)

About My Second Life
In my Second Life, I'm keen to see as many different things and have as many diverse experiences as possible. I'm also keen to develop my own knowledge and skills as a result of being a resident of the world. I have got time for anyone and won't pre-judge anyone until I've spent some time with them - I love meeting new people and finding out about things I might not have looked into otherwise. I love the diversity of the population of SL - there really are people from all walks of life there, and people who use SL to experience a completely different way of life to their own personal reality.
I find SL hugely liberating because in RL, I am very shy around new people - to the degree that I can go a whole evening without talking to anyone at times if I feel intimidated by them. Second Life is teaching me that it doesn't have to be that way - it's also allowing me to express myself clearly in the manners that I'm most comfortable with - artistically (including musically) and through the written word. I've made more friends in a couple of weeks in SL than I have in the last few years - simply because I feel more comfortable in myself in the virtual world, if that makes sense.
Above all, though, I want to have some fun! :) I'm not in SL to find true love or anything like that - I already have that in my first life! I'm very happy to meet new friends of every description, though, and I look forward to meeting you (yes, YOU) at some point in the future. Please feel free to leave a comment if you're looking at this.
See you soon!

Rapidly developing a taste for photography - thanks to KD for inspiring me to get involved, and also to dust off a copy of Photoshop to actually learn how to use it a bit. :)

Do you like my moody "old film" photo shot? I was pleased with it - Mylena pointed me in the direction of some interesting plugins for Photoshop. Hurrah for Photoshop. :)

Hiya dude! Haven't heard from you in a while for sure!!! Welcome Back! :o) I'm trying to put up a vendor / stall / shop atm, so that people can acually come see the item in world, instead of buying from a picture from SLX or OnRez. Greetz Gany
