I love the freedom and creativity in SL. It's unlike any other game I've ever played. :) I joined on a whim and don't play often, but when I do I love to work on unique and cutesy avatars, meet people and be a digital fashionista!

There are only two things about that:
1) I don't think most people know how to look old. Most just make a few minor adaptation to their avatar and you can't blame them... it is not like it is the easiest thing in the world to change those things.
2) Most people playing are young, why would they want to look old? We have enough time to get depressed when we get old in the first life.

Let's hear it for distinctive avs, indeed. I know most women who play SL like to play Barbie with their av, but do they all need to look the same? I tend to find the most interesting av in the room and talk to *them...

Well, as the person who has successfully introduced the concepts of: Old, bald, fat, short and bow-legged into SL, I agree that not everyone should be a 20-something hard-bodied WASP in SL. Welcome to SL! Be creative!
