Log in Failed (again!)

Typical!
New server upgrade (V1.40.4) rolled out. System wide grid restart completed.. all hunky dory now? Nope
This was an upgrade from the other week which they had to roll back...
Now put into place over the past few days.. and now SL has gone all Pete Tong! (Again!)

Roll on 18th August when they roll out the new server! (Pardon the bad pun!) Server 1.42 (pilot) and then on the 25th a "rolling restart" of Server 1.42










Typical.. No log-in
No transactions available
No Land Store either


[Updated 9:40 am PST] The issue that we are currently experiencing has been identified. However, we do not have an expected ETA. As soon as we have further information we will update this blog.

[8:48 am PST] We are aware that there are various technical issues taking place currently inworld and on the website. We are investigating this situation and working towards a quick resolution.

Some of the symptoms involved are difficulty to teleport, transactions failing and the inability to login. Please refrain from making inworld transactions, inventory transfers or rezzing items inworld. Please check this blog for further updates.





Some of the symptoms!!! Pray.. do tell exactly how many problems are there then?

I've been trying to log in for the past 3 hours or so.. its now 7pm here (11am SL time).
I was previously in SL in my region around 2-3pm, about to do some of the rebuilding and went to see my friend Nightgirl, who was putting up a new outfit in HeroMart and also onto Xstreet (soon to be rebranded with a new name!) She had a few issues then and this was around 2-3pm. I then went to an Urban region, after looking on the SL website at some. I was in there looking around as a "visitor/observer" and then the lag meter started acting like a traffic light. I was stuck.. 8 times I tried to leave the region.. 8 times I failed.. "unable to teleport..."
Around 4pm(ish) I called Nightgirl for help... and set my group tag to her home and bingo! It worked.. Rescued by Nightgirl.. (yay!) Another damsel in distress saved!
I also had a webpage error message (500 internal error message) uh oh!!
I tried to reload the page.. it eventually came back up and I logged out (I hope I did as it was taking ages and it went down again!)
I told her about the region and what happened as well as that message showing up. She then departed as she had to leave work, day off tomorrow as she is getting ready for her holiday.

She then logged out leaving me on my own at her place trying to jump home!
Nope! I failed.. 3 times and then got logged out by the system.
Since then I had to hope that the system was still down as I was still logged into the SL website. It's now back up and I had logged out as I had to log back in.

Now we are at this stage.. Log-ins Disabled
So no region rebuild for me for the forseeable future. This means a day lost on the rebuild for me as I'm working on my own doing this.
Will they refund any down time over this I bet not.. despite the fact that we pay SL for regions/land etc we don't get a refund if it all goes belly up!

If this was a problem in RL and not SL you would expect some sort of compensation.. wouldn't you? the log-in screen shows around 17.9k in world and prior to that it was around 46-50k!
That's a lot of pissed off punters lost and not even at peak time yet either! Ooooh Lucky for them at LL! Less complaints to handle!

[RESOLVED] Technical Difficulties: Logins are now enabled.

[RESOLVED 11:05 am PDT] Services have been restored and logins are re-enabled. For the next few minutes, please be patient as you log in and try to ride a login attempt all the way through, rather than canceling and retrying.

We’re expecting TPs to be more difficult than normal for much of the rest of the day. We’ll be monitoring all services closely and will keep you posted here if in world performance changes.
