About My Second Life

Kiwidude came into SL in August 2006 and has dedicated himself to building romantic environments for couples.

This was primarily motivated by the real life love he found in Second Life: Amelia Daffodil. They met in 2006, married in SL in 2007 and then married in RL!

He built Aroha Tahi to woo Amelia, then decided to devise a system that would allow others to enjoy the experience of romance in a private environment. With the help of Ariel Moonsoo he created SLs only parcel reservation system, giving renters the ability to control access rights on the parcels they reserve.

The gates opened on June 9 2007, and the parks have grown and improved ever since.

Aroha Tahi is now well known as a premier lovers destination and over 1000 people have used the parks and fallen in love there.

"That's the whole reason for doing it" he says, "if I can help other people find the joy that I have found through love in Second Life, then that makes it all worthwhile."

Visit the NEW Aroha Tahi

In December 2008 a new and upgraded Aroha Tahi was launched on a full sim.

The new island is comprised of 12 private parks, including a wedding park, several honeymoon parks, and specialized "lifestyle" options as well.

Initial comments from Aroha Tahi Lovers are overwhelmingly positive, and it is a delight to recieve such support.

"I often say I'm happiest when I'm building something, but I think the true joy comes when I see it complete and being appreciated" says Kiwidude, "This project really was in development for 18 months, so it is hugely rewarding to see it come to life as it has."

My Second Life Resume

KD, supported by a team of friends, has created something truly unique in Second Life: A lovers park that, when rented, allows the renter to dynamically control the parcel access list.

This means that you can have a completely secure and private location for a romantic date, engagement, honeymoon or other intimate occasion.
No cramped skyboxes, no "please respect privacy" screens, and absolutely no griefers for those that rent a park.

This is unique in Second Life.

Honeymoon vouchers are also available: If you are looking for a unique wedding gift consider giving a honeymoon at Aroha Tahi.
